Photo Tips from Truprint - Baby Pictures

SHE’S the cutest thing in the world, a pink and chubby bundle of happiness.
So capturing your baby’s beauty on camera should be the easiest thing in the world. But too often the results are not as good as you’d hoped.
So follow our guide and you’ll soon be filling albums with delightful digital pictures of the new addition to your family.

Tip one: be prepared
Keep your camera in one handy place at home so when your little one is looking particularly photogenic, you’re ready to get the picture.
Going out with your baby involves as much preparation as the average assault on Everest. Get into a routine of packing your camera along with the wipes, bottle, nappies, change of clothes…

Tip two: timing is all
Just like adults, babies are not always in a good mood (and don’t they let you know it!). If your baby is hungry, tired, too hot or too cold, put the camera away.
Wait until she’s fed, rested and comfortable. Then she’ll be ready for her close-up.
Time of day also makes a difference to that essential of every good picture: lighting.
Bright afternoon sunshine can make your baby squint and grimace. So find a shady spot for pictures. And although you’re outdoors, think about using flash to even out any shadows.

Tip three: get down
The best pictures of your baby are taken at her level. Kneel, sit or crouch down to take photos, and zoom in close. Seeing those beautiful blue eyes looking out from your photo album is much nicer than the top of her head!

Tip four: back to basics
A simpler background is always better. Put your baby on a plain blanket and clear away background clutter. Don’t let anything distract the viewer from your beautiful baby!

Tip five: pop in some props
Give your baby a favourite toy. A picture of her absorbed in play is always enchanting. And you’ll be able to keep a record of how she is growing with pictures of her holding a favourite doll a taken a few weeks apart.

Tip six: bring in the family
Time with your family is precious, so capture it on camera. When the baby is playing with her cousin, or falls asleep on grandma’s lap, take a photo. They’ll all want to see it, which leads us to…

Tip seven: share the results
