It was a great lunch, very positive and motivating. I could have stayed there all day.
I have some friends with whom I've been friends with for over ten years. But I've changed so much and they've changed so much that we have grown apart. But we are still friends. I guess after a certain number of years you feel like you will be friends with someone forever, just because.
That's not so bad, but a lot of these friends are just so negative about everything. The conversation is so un-motivating that at the end of lunch I feel like telling them to jump off a bridge - life's not going to get any better.
I've tried talking to them and tried changing their perspective but it just turns into an argument and that's even worse.
They're just not ready. They love being the victim. So those friends I only see every other year or so. They try to get together more often but I'm careful with whom I spend my time.
I watch very carefully what goes into my mind. "What goes in, comes out" so I try to let only outstanding things in. When I am around negative or bad-mouth people, I constantly remind myself how bad that is, and then make sure I direct it to where it needs to go, the
trash.
So here's the question: who are you spending your time with?
Until we meet again, keep a smile on your face, me in your prayers and God in your heart.
As always, your comments are welcomed.
Have a better than Outstanding Day!
Brian
