When you have a panic attack; you may fall into what I call the fear – panic cycle. It works like this. You are anxious and start to worry about something. Say you are boarding a plane. You start to become anxious and before you know it, you are having a full-blown panic attack. The attack passes, but you are now very afraid of what has happened and wonder will it happen again. Now you devote every waking moment looking for the next panic attack. Sure enough, you have another one and the cycle repeats itself. This can go on for years. Having to wrestle with constant anxiety and panic attacks can take a toll on one's health.
