The international space station and the shuttle Discovery made
an evasive maneuver on Wednesday to avoid a collision with the
10-pound tool that floated away from a spacewalking astronaut
last weekend.
NASA's Mission Control called for the maneuver when radar
tracking revealed the foot-long clamp would pass one mile ahead
and 200 feet below the two docked spacecraft.
A high-speed collision with the tool could have been
disastrous for the 10 Americans and Russians aboard Discovery and
the space station, which circled the Earth at an altitude of 235
miles.

This amazing story was no doubt cause for some very tense
moments in space felt by the astronauts, and of course here on
earth felt by officials at NASA. Thank the Lord that everything
seemed to work out fine as they fired their engines to avoid
missing this wrench or tool in space.
Can you imagine? This space station, and shuttle weighing
tons of pounds had to fire the engines to miss a 10-pound wrench
that could have killed them all if it collided and caused their
cabin to de-pressurize.
So often in our own lives, we might think it is only the big
things that really matter, but we also know it's "the little
foxes that spoil the vines". There are times we need to "fire
our engines", and go higher in God if we are going to miss
the wrenches the enemy attempts to throw in our way. Today, you
may have to "fire your engine" to avoid being tripped up.
God is not "watching us at a distance", God is only a whisper
away!
