People tend to be more honest online, at least the ones that are actually looking for love. They will tell you the truth because they know that if they don’t you will find out sooner or later anyway. It is pretty obvious when you meet a person and they look nothing like the photo they sent you. This usually means that they lied about a lot of other things as well.
Online dating is, for the most part, very safe and so much easier than going out to the bars. Unfortunately our society has convinced us that partying at the bars is suppose to be a regular weekend tradition and a way to meet your mate, but it is a horrible way to meet somebody. The only thing the bar scene is good for is finding a one night stand and empty people searching for one night stands.
