If you’re not watching NBC’s new hit show ‘Deal Or No Deal” you are missing out on some of the best TV on the air today.
And I’ve got four BIG reasons why it’s so darn addictive.
Reason #1 -- Mood Swings
There are endless piles of cash floating around the Deal Or No Deal set, ranging from $.01 all the way to 1,000,000 bucks. And you and I both know that anytime there are truckloads of money to be made, there are also truckloads of money to be lost.
So, what happens when contestants lose? Tempers flair. Moods swings spiral out of control. And tears are shed.
Ever watched an episode of Springer? (No hands please.) Yeah, it’s like watching that . . . but without the guilt.
Reason # 2 -- Greed
When it comes to ‘Deal Or No Deal’, greed is the name of the game. And no one makes winning look more attractive (and losing funnier) than these guys do.
The pace of the game goes about like this: A contestant opens 26 totally random brief cases, each with varying amounts of money in them..
Each time a case is opened, the dollar amount it contains is eliminated from the game. Then, depending on how high the remaining dollar amounts still in play are, the “Banker” will make the contestant an offer to walk away from the game.
Most contestants then jeer and reject the Banker’s offers with a resounding “No Deal!”
Which leads me to . . .
Reason # 3 The Stupidity Factor
There’s just something riveting about watching some loudmouthed idiot make a fool out of himself on national television . . .over and over again.
And in the game of Deal or No Deal you can watch the drama unfold every night, as contestants fritter away large sums of cash. They treat $50,000 like it’s “chicken feed.”
And they ask the audience for advice on which case should be opened next. (People! . . .there is absolutely no skill in choosing which random briefcase to open!)
Reason # 4 It’s Interactive
Talking (or yelling) at you TV during Deal Or No Deal comes naturally, the game makes some contestants easy to love and others easy to hate.
And if you really want to get involved, you can buy your own game piece and play along for the $10,000 prize.
So there you have it. If you’re looking for something different, the show is fun, it’s entertaining, and it’s easy to understand.
If you have a spare 30 minutes, watch the show. It will make you laugh and get your blood boiling all at the same time.
