Candle Making has become a huge trend recently. People are seeing candle making as both a hobby and money making opportunity more and more. It's an amazing way to obtain beautiful gifts for realtives and close friends and to bring in some cash if you choose to sell them. Candle making, however, is all but a new craft. Back before lamps were even imagined, candles illuminated the dark.

Whether you are just making candles to present to others as presents, or you're actually looking into selling them, you first must perfect you candle making skills. You should always be sure to purchase high quality materials. Wicks, scents, molds and coloring for candle making can be bought in craft stores and online.

The first step to make any candle is melting the wax. Most candle makers prefer to utilize a double boiler to accomplish this. Set it up by taking a big pot and filling it with some water. Then place a smaller pot with your wax inside of it into the larger pot. Wax easily burns during melting, so use a thermometer to check the wax temperature to lower the chances of burning.

Put a wick in your mold and be sure to coat the mold's insides with non-stick spray to make removing the candle easier when it's finished. After the mold is prepped and your candle wax is melted, pour the melted wax into the candle mold. You should let it sit until the wax has completely hardened or you could put the mold into the freezer for about 30 minutes. Once the wax has completely hardened, remove the finished product from the mold.

There is honestly no limitations on the multitudes of candles you can create what with all of the assorted decorations, colors and fragrances available. A few candle makers, however, have been dissatisfied even with the multitude of choices and have taken it upon themselves to make their own molds out of latex.

Latex molds, unfortunately, are flimsy though. It can be very hard to pour wax into latex molds if there is not something there to stabalize it. Luck for us, all that one needs to create a stabalizer is a nice piece of sturdy cardboard. Place a hole big enough to hold the mold into the center of the piece of cardboard and put the mold in the created hole. Now you can pour into the mold without any problems.

Mastering the necessary candle making skills generally takes a handful of tries, but once you have learned it, you will be so suprised by the amazing candles you have created and can give out as presents or sell to others.
