Myth 1. Acne is caused by poor hygiene
This is simply not true. You can wash as much as you like, but your acne isn't going to go away that easy. You may even be washing to much. All that rubbing and scrubbing can irritate your acne prone skin. I'm not saying you shouldn't keep yourself clean. What I am saying is that you need to get it out of your head that this alone will solve your acne problem.
Myth 2. Acne is caused by diet
We have all been told that chocolate will cause acne. However, this is not true. I know lots of people who eat all sort of chocolate and other junk who don't have acne. At the same time you could be allergic to a certain type of food. In this case it may cause you to have an ace breakout.
Myth 3. Acne is caused by stress
It is possible that acne can be caused by stress. But for the most part you will find that even if you are under no stress your acne will not clear up. In most cases you will find that the acne itself will actually be what's giving you the stress.
Myth 4: Acne will go away on its own
You do not have to live with an acne condition and your acne will not go away on it's on. It is true that over time your hormones may get back under control. However, there are lots of people suffering from acne as adults.
Myth 5: Tanning clears up skin
In the long term tanning can actually make your acne worse and even your skin. Tanning will at first dry up those peoples. Don't to excited about as it wont last. You may also find that tanning could cause your skin to dry out.
Myth 6: Popping zits will make them go away faster
Popping your zits is not a very good idea. It will not make you condition improve. You could make your scars worse and even make your acne spread. You are best to stay away from this tactic.
Myth 7: Only teenagers get acne
There are lots and lots of people out there suffering from acne that are adults. There are lots of reasons for this. For now you shouldn't feel bad if you are an adult and have acne.
