Music festivals can be a great place to meet new people and see a fantastic array of bands and other music acts. So are you one of the people that enjoys attending such events, or do you find yourself avoiding them?

If you fall into the latter category then there's no doubt that you're missing out, but there's also no question that you're not alone. Plenty of people are put off going to festivals for a range of reasons.

Their concerns range from everything to the thought of getting stuck in the rain, to being worried about using festival toilets. The reality is that there are actually far more positives than negatives. In fact, you can easily reduce some of those negatives.

Let's start by thinking about the weather. Since most festivals consist of a large outdoor element, it makes some sense that people would be worried about the weather. After all, who really wants to be standing in the rain for hours on end?

Fortunately, it is something that can be dealt with. If you're worried about the weather then why not be prepared? Take along some good waterproof, warm clothing and you needn't be worried. If you're intending on camping then you could also bring a selection of towels, thus helping you to keep dry.

Suitable footwear can also ensure that you don't find yourself getting very wet and muddy. With a bit of preparation, you can ensure a far better experience.

So how about the dreaded festival toilets? Everybody knows that toilet facilities at most festival sites can be pretty awful. Unfortunately, it often seems that they're hard to avoid.

If you really don't like the thought of using the toilets that are provided then why not consider taking along your own folding festival toilets? There are a few retailers now selling such products online.

As you can see, it is possible to avoid many of the negatives associated with festivals by doing a bit of planning. Make the most of the experience and enjoy watching some great bands live.
