This type of flooring is an artificial, i.e, synthetic genre which uses melamine and fiber as the base material. As much as five layers which are fused and laminated to form a single , small unit of laminate plank. This method has got plenty of advantages. The most important benefit is, it is very affordable compared to other floorings. The top most layer, which is a protective layer is made up of an oxide of aluminium which makes it extremely impregnable to scratches, cuts, breaks , cracks and abrasions. One of the layers of laminate flooring is melamine layer which is a chemical resin. This melamine is a thermosetting plastic and is fire-proof. Adding to the pros, this type of flooring is very easy to install and it does not need any engineers. We ourselves can do it in a day. Once damaged, the particular plank can be easily removed and replaced. Thus installation and maintenance are easy and doable.
The hardwood flooring generally gives a regal look to the house since this is a quite orthodox method. There are two types of hardwood floors. One is single slab hardwood floor and the other is engineered hardwood floor. This classification is based upon the thickness of each slab. While the thickness of single slab hardwood plank ranges from 3/4" to 5/16", the thickness of an engineered slab ranges from 3/8" to 9/16". The main advantage of opting for hardwood flooring is durability. If maintained properly, they can withstand up to 80 years. Another advantage of hardwood flooring is, it can be refinished. If you want your floor look light stained, it can be done with hardwood flooring but it is impossible with laminate flooring.
