ACN started in 1993 and has grown into the planet's biggest direct selling telecommunications company. Their products range from the ACN video phone to wireless service and wireless phone to long distance service. They are mostly known for the ACN video phone which can connect people across the globe through video and voice.
ACN has jumped on the relationship marketing turnip truck. They depend on the MLM business style to get the word out on their products. Their style to marketing their products is through a downline of representatives who sell the products by sharing them with people they know such as family members, friends, co-workers and other people they have contact with.
The ACN style has worked worked well at pushing them up the list to one of the top direct sales companies in their field. Network marketing has been a lucrative way to sell products since 1949 and has become the marketing arm for a very diverse range of products. Currently it seems that anything and everything is being moved through network marketing.
ACN is growing really well but I have a beef with them. With the resources ACN has in way of technology you would imagine they would come up with marketing training for their reps that was more current and tuned to reach the masses.
First I should state that I am a professional network marketer and I use current marketing practices such as the internet to grow my business. As I already said, ACN uses the MLM approach but teaches their distributors out dated sales strategies. What many folks fail to understand is the old style of of chasing your friends and family and writing a memory jogger is quickly fading away and has already become an out dated way in growing a big downline. This is the #1 reason most people fail to make money in network marketing.
Let me illustrate this for you. Think about a small business. How about a pizza shop? Suppose you owned a pizza store and you invited every one of your friends and your family to come out and purchase a pizza every couple of weeks. That seems like a fantastic idea but what happens on the days your friends don't feel like eating pizza? If they don't come in these days then there won't be many sales. The point I'm trying to make is you need more than friends to build a business. What you actually need is a constant stream of customers flowing through your doors every single day..
This model also works with multi-level marketing. ACN teaches you to make a warm list of everyone you know and then invite them to a business meeting where they will be presented with an ACN phone overview and a presentation on the compensation plan. This could work for a short time but you will soon run out of people to talk with. Your business begins to die due to lack of prospects. Very few people have a large enough network of contacts to keep them in business for any length of time. You must do marketing if you wish to keep your business growing and you need a fresh supply of leads every day.
One of the most powerful ways to sell a business is to advertise on the web. Look around and you will see that most businesses are using the internet in some way to explode sales. What I can't understand about ACN is they try to keep their reps from harnessing the power of the internet to build their business. The reason I know this is from talking with many different ACN distributors who told me that their upline suggested that the internet was a waste of time. This is completely untrue. Distributors on my team have so many leads that there is not enough time in the day to call them all.
Why wouldn't a company like ACN with all their technology want to apply a modern strategy to their marketing approach? Instead they teach a backward, outdated style from the stone ages and ignore the fact that most of their reps are making very little money. So I raise the question, "Why not teach your reps a way to market so they can grow their business and earn a healthy income?" I guess that the leaders at ACN don't recognize how to use the web and are terrified of it.
I shouldn't pick on ACN because this problem spans the entire MLM industry. Most MLM companies do not teach marketing. I can tell you right now that calling your warm list is not marketing. If you have a sound marketing program you won't have to worry about leads because the incoming calls will light up your phone. It's a completely different approach than what is taught in the MLM industry. It's about time for the old dinasours in this business to either learn some new marketing techniques or hang up trying to teach their downline ineffective ways to make money.
I educate people the right way to market their opportunity online and have found that this is the best way to generate a flow of prospects that will allow you to build a huge business over time. Visit the links below for supplementary information on my marketing strategies and how you can use the power of the web and literally explode your opportunity on auto-pilot. This works for ACN and any other multi-level marketing you desire to build.
