Design
The Acer Aspire E1-510 is not very high profile in design but it is not cheap, either. It's available in Clarinet Black, the Acer Aspire E1-510P has plastic in its four sides. The keyboard, touchpad and mouse buttons are also made of plastic.
Its dimensions are 15.02 x 10.08 x 1.05 inches and at 5.8 pounds, the Aspire E1 is larger and heavier than other similar notebooks. It, however, slipe comfortably into a large messenger bag, and not quite heavy to carry around as well.
Performance
With a 1.86-GHz Intel Celeron N2920 quad-core processor and an 8GB of RAM, the laptop has enough power for basic works. It is however a bit slow when typing and loading of camera is concerned.
The laptop may take an intimidating 15 seconds to boot Windows 8.1, which is 9 seconds slower than the HP Chromebook.
Configurations
It has a 1.86-GHz Intel Celeron N2920 quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM and a 500GB, 5,400-rpm hard drive. If you need more processing power, you can opt for the Aspire E1-572P-6857, which comes with an Intel i3-4010U and 6GB of RAM for $100 more.

Battery Life
In the battery Test that occurred with web surfing via Wi-Fi at 40 percent brightness, the Acer Aspire E1's runtime of 5 hours and 24 minutes. This duration is 40 minutes less than the category average (6:09) and the HP Chromebook (6:42), but almost 90 minutes longer than the Asus X550CA (4:05).
Verdict
At below $500, the Acer E1-510P-267 is a nice Windows 8 laptop for everyday tasks, and it has good battery life as well. It may not be the most attractive notebook, and its graphics performance has large room to be better and efficient. But for that price, the Acer Aspire E1-510P will meet the basic needs of lots of people.
