In a real self defence situation in the street we probably don't have enough time to pull out that can of mace, or maybe we left it at home that day. In a fight situation where you have only your hands to protect you it's vital that you know how to use them. Martial arts are a great form of defence, but most of us don't have time to learn them, so another option for your defence is pressure points.
Pressure points are areas on the human body where there are an unusually large number of nerve endings. You may have experienced pain and numbness after awkwardly bumping a part of your body against something; you hit a pressure point. These points on your body produce pain and muscle spasms when pushed correctly, they can also be used as an effective weapon against an attacker.
1: Temples. A sudden smack to both temples is enough to knock someone unconscious. Your temple areas are the weakest part of the skull and contain a major artery.
2: Nose. You may have seen an action movie where some one breaks a persons nose and it goes into their brains. Well, that is actually possible, because behind the nose is a cavity which leads to the brain. You're not trying to kill your attacker, but a good hit to the nose will break it and leave them in severe pain.
