Having these malicious files on your computer cannot only be a security threat; it can also severely impede your PC's performance. • Defragment Your Hard Drive

Your computer performs at its best when the data on its hard drive is stored in a small area. The more use your computer gets, however, the more likely it is that your hard drive data will be randomly spread over its entire surface, depending on the amount of free space you have.


Click on your Start Menu, and select All Programs. Click Accessories, System Tools, and Disk Defragmenter. Choose the drive which needs be fragmenting, and close down any programs you're running before you begin.
