When computer games first came out they were simple joystick and button controls, showing 2 dimensional graphics. Such games as Space Invaders and Pacman swept the world by force making their first appearance in colonnades then eventually to the customers own home. To think video games made only twenty years ago required a machine the dimensions of a coffee table to be ready to run them can now be played on mobile phones. Such fast development in technology is incredibly hard to forecast for the future.
With further developments in console systems and PCs Playstation games now have a selection of platforms, from the hi tech Sony Playstation three capable of running games that contain virtual worlds to the highly interactive Nintendo Wii with motion controls. However there's one platform that continues to get better over time, rather than becoming redundant. This is naturally the ceaselessly upgradeable private PC ( computer (PC). Computers are continually becoming quicker and more complicated, permitting for better video and more in depth games.
This technology is 3D glasses. With the implementation of this technology X3D games are able to literally come out of the screen. Such technology hasn't been implemented into any console system at this present time. This is technology that has been about for years, being used in cinemas and Imac's world wide. This makes us think what could the future hold for such technology, and what other technology's exist that game developers can utilize.
