11 Powerful Blog Traffic Tips

Here's a few tips to help you get driving more traffic to your blog over the next 30 days or so.

1. I don't want to flog a dead horse here but this has to be mentioned as it's basically the most critical piece of information I can offer you. Write good interesting content.

2. Learn the basics of SEO "Search Engine Optimization" and SEO your content to get it ranked on the search engines. Wordpress has some excellent plugins that help with this and I will be sure to make a list of great plugins and put them up on our site soon.

3. When you have finished writing or making your content, share it on all the social networking & bookmarking sites viable, Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Del.icio.us, ect' "I will do up a list of these sites and post it on our blog" If you are using a wordpress blog then install a plugin called onlywire, that's www dot onlywire dot com "can't put links in an article body" this is an brilliant social networking and bookmarking plugin that performs remarkably and does a tonne of work with the click of your mouse, you will need to spend a few hrs joining all the sites first but it's worth the effort if you're serious about traffic. Took me about 4hrs then a couple of 10min sessions tweaking my own mistakes with the automatic logins. PS. Be sure to write down each sites login details where you won't lose them. Some want email address and some want Username.

4. If you haven't set up your ping list, go to my ping list post and follow the advice on installing it to your wordpress blog.

5. Write, submit and promote content on a frequent basis. Make it a rule to write one piece of content be it either an article or blog post every day both are pretty much the same and one can be used with the other so if you write a blog just make it 500 words and then submit it as an article at the same time.

6. Press Releases are an awesome way to get traffic and generate strong reliable backlinks "Note To Self: Make a list of Press Release links"

7. Google has a passion for video, so come up with some good video content and use a service like Tubemogul or TrafficGeyser, TrafficGyser will cost about $97 USD per month and is regarded as the best video marketing service there is. Tubemogul offers a free service that's really good and also has a premium option. You will need to become a member of these sites also.

8. RSS Feeds; submitting your RSS feed to a bundle of RSS Aggregators is well worth the effort, I'm not allowed to put a bunch of links in an article so just go to our website to get a list of RSS Feed Aggregators, it should keep you busy for an hr or so. 9. Always make a recommendation to your site in your articles, blog posts, videos' everything you do. Don't be scared to tell your audience to visit your site, if you are doing a good job providing informative information they will be happy to take a look at what else you may have to offer.


10. You should at all times have your opt-in form above the fold "The term fold refers to newspapers, you see them folded on the shelf every day and the biggest headline is always above the fold" I will also make up a post and some video training on opt-in forms over the coming week.

11. Article Marketing: Article Marketing is also a very strong traffic building strategy and it fits in so well to blogging, just write your article, spin it "Make multiple slightly different versions of it" then submitt it to 250+ Article Directories.
